Doodle 4 Google 2012 Competition

Google use their homepage logo designs, or doodles, to celebrate different people, events or special dates. These doodles are usually created by their Google web designers. However, for the fourth year running they're inviting Irish students to create their own doodle by taking part in the Doodle 4 Google competition, where they can design a Google logo based on the theme of “I wish”.

#ccGlobal: Connected Classrooms is the concept of #ccGlobal, which started back in June 2011 when teachers from Virginia, USA and Sydney, Australia wanted to create a network of connected schools where students from different countries could work on similar projects. The concept has evolved to include a matrix of connections between schools in Virginia and Sydney and which has now spread to include schools in Ireland and the UK.

The National FÍS Film Festival took place on Wednesday the 3rd of November in the Helix at Dublin City University with over 800 children and their teachers attending from across the country. President Mary McAleese presented the overall winners, St Aiden's NS, Sligo with the Aileen MacKeogh Award for their film “Awful Arabella”.
